Aurora PhotoCenter’s exhibitions highlight emerging work by local artists and foster new ideas, inspiration, and connections to our arts community by featuring the work of internationally exhibiting, award winning photographers.

Aurora hosts between 8-12 exhibitions per year in its Main Gallery and Efroymson Gallery. Exhibitions in the Main Gallery are on average 3 months in length; exhibitions in the Efroymson Gallery are on average 2 months in length and most often are single-artist exhibitions. Aurora’s exhibitions feature work created by a diverse group of makers exploring a wide array of subjects, working methods, and photographic processes.

Exhibiting artists receive creative and production support, as well as a stipend for the exhibition of their work.

If you would like to submit a proposal for an exhibition, please email the following information to info@auroraphoto.org with the subject line, “Exhibition Proposal: Artist(s) Name(s) or Exhibition Title.” If you require accommodations in order to submit your application, please reach out to Mary Goodwin at info@auroraphoto.org.

*Exhibition Description: Artist(s) and major themes presented in the exhibition (no more than 500 words)

*Artist(s) Biography: Previous exhibitions and applicable experience (no more than 500 words)

*Vision and Execution: Approximate number and size of works, formatting and framing, and installation, and any special programming in association with the exhibition

*Work Samples: No more than 10 jpegs of work to be included in the exhibition

Proposals will be evaluated on a rolling basis upon receipt. Due to the volume of submissions, Aurora can’t provide feedback on proposals. Please do not send hard-copy materials unless requested; Aurora is not responsible for the return of mailed exhibition proposals or materials.
