Aurora Receives Grant from Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation
Indianapolis, IN (May 31, 2025) — Aurora PhotoCenter is proud to announce that we have received a 2025 grant from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation for general operating support. This generous grant will fund and grow Aurora’s service to visual artists working in photography through our annual program of exhibitions, residencies, workshops, artist talks, and access to creative tools, including our darkroom and digital imaging lab.
“On behalf of everyone at Aurora, I thank the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation for this important grant. We are honored to join the long and growing list of arts and cultural organizations supported by AWCCF in our Central Indiana community. This grant will add both crucial strength and continuity to our operations cycle as we pursue Aurora’s mission,” said Aurora Founder and Executive Director Mary Goodwin.
The Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation is the major continuing philanthropic legacy of Mr. Clowes and embodies his love for arts, humanities, and the city of Indianapolis. Incorporated in 1990, the Foundation’s full funding was made following Mr. Clowes’ death in November of 2000. The Mission of the Foundation is “…to support charitable organizations that promote or preserve the Arts and Humanities and to support charitable organizations that were supported by Mr. Clowes during his life or are similar to those supported by Mr. Clowes.”
